GRE or Graduate Record Examination is an international standardised test accepted for admission to graduate various programmes at many universities across the globe, especially in USA. Conducted by ETS, the GRE Test measures the candidate’s verbal, quantitative, critical thinking and analytical writing skills covered in three main sections — Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning and Analytical Writing.
A computer based test, GRE takes 3 hours and 45 minutes to complete and test takers are scored within the range of 130-170.
In addition to the GRE revised general test, there are 7 subject tests in GRE that evaluate candidates’ knowledge in their respective field. Subject tests are subjective in nature and is an in depth assessment of the student in a field. However, most of the universities offering MIS accept just GRE general test scores. If a university does, require, however, it is most likely to ask for the candidate’s GRE Mathematics subject test score.
